Due to the large number of participants already booked and catering numbers and requirements needing to be communicated, we have decided to close the conference bookings at midday on Friday 13 March. Apologies for any inconvenience caused by this.

We would like to receive some more nominations for our Coastal Restoration Award and have extended the deadline to 29 February.

If you know of any group doing great work, go to our Coastal Restoration Award page and fill in the form.

The award will be presented at our conference dinner in Southland on 19 March 2020.

Hauraki Gulf islands’ coasts are eroding due to the increasing effects of climate change. There is a rush on to save the affected archaeological sites.

Tane’s Tree Trust has recently launched its Carbon Calculator, which helps you calculate how many native trees you need to plant to counteract your environmental foot print. You can also calculate how much CO2 your planted trees are removing or will be removing in the future. There are many examples and explanations of how this works.
