Purpose of group: Days Bay beach is small and very narrow, severely compromised by road and parking, with no room for real dunes to form. Our aim has been to plant the natural vegetation where we think it will survive, to provide a buffer and some protection against sand drifting roadward. Frequent high storm surges mean that we are limited to a rather narrow fringe of vegetation, but it certainly attracts interest and public awareness.
